Frequenlty Asked Questions
What kind of drinks can I stir with the Agitor
MicroPump?
Virtually any drink – hot or cold.
Tea and coffee are the obvious two, but also powdered drinks
like chocolate and Horlicks as well as syrup mixes. Agitor
will mix most powdered soups except if they are very thick.
Does the Agitor system need batteries?
No. It wouldn't be much of an outdoor cup if it did.
How effective is Agitor in dissolving sugar
in coffee in comparison to using a conventional stirrer or
teaspoon?
Because Agitor is positioned at the base
of the cup where the sugar lies, it is an extremely effective
at dissolving sugar (or mixing anything else for that matter).
It is more efficient than many of the stick like stirrers
you get at coffee houses, and is as efficient as stirring
with a teaspoon. It takes about the same time to dissolve
sugar in a hot drink with Agitor as it does with a teaspoon.
Since FLEJ is made of plastic, won't it soften with hot drinks and make a drink taste like plastic?
Unlike cheap (and even some expensive ones) plastic cups, FLEJ is made of high quality, medical grade materials that won't
soften or taint a drink.

Will the Agitor diaphragm on the underside
of FLEJ fatigue and break or leak over time?
The diaphragm is made of an advanced, medical grade material called a Themoplastic Elastomer. The Thermoplastic Elastomer we use is also used in medical
devices, food grade tubing and diaphragms in industrial pumps.
Industrial diaphragms achieve millions of cycles per year
without failing so it is extremely unlikely that the Agitor
diaphragm will fail under comparatively light use.
Why are the walls of FLEJ fluted?
This is part of FLEJ’s Stack and Dry
feature. When several FLEJ’s are stacked together the
flutes allow excess water to escape and air to enter between
each cup so they can dry. Practical if you have limited stacking
space or you are catering for large groups.
There are two bumps on the side of FLEJ,
what are they for?
This is one for our designers. They requested
the bumps so that additional handy bits can be clipped onto
FLEJ. Handles, grips and insulators are in the pipeline. Watch
this space.
My FLEJ tastes funny the first time I use
it. Why?
As with any new product designed for eating
or drinking, you should always wash your FLEJ before you use
it for the first time. This will remove any residue left over
from the manufacturing process.

Does liquid get caught in the Agitor pump
once I’ve finished my drink?
No. The Agitor MicroPump is especially designed
to drain completely so no liquid remains in the pump when
the drink is finished.
How easy is it to clean the Agitor MicroPump?
Very easy. The basic method is to fill FLEJ
with soapy water and pump Agitor a few times before rinsing
and stacking to dry. If you need to, you can take Agitor apart
by unscrewing FLEJ’s base and undoing the upper jet
plug (use a your finger or a coin to twist the plug about 10 degrees in an anti-clockwise direction. Then dislodge it by tapping the cup on a hard surface.) This allows access to Agitor’s inner chamber as
well as the micro jets should they need clearing.
CAUTION: Please take special care to refit the base
properly by lining up the marker on the side of the cup with the marker on the base.
The base is a tight fit so that children can't accidently unscrew it. It helps to wet the base before tightening. Failure to fit the base properly could result
in leakage and scalding in the case of hot drinks.
Why doesn’t FLEJ have a handle and
won’t I burn my fingers if drinking a hot drink?
FLEJ is primarily a travel cup and we opted
for a more pack-friendly streamlined design. If you would
prefer a handle, our designers are working on a robust one
as a clip on accessory. Watch this space.) Even without a
handle, you won’t burn your fingers. The top third of
FLEJ is thicker than the rest of the cup so you can comfortably
hold it containing a hot drink.

What about insulation? Won’t my coffee
get cold quickly?
Fitting a FLEJ lid will help significantly reduce
heat loss and insulating sleeves are available to keep drinks hot for longer.
I have checked the distributor list on this
website and there doesn’t seem to be a supplier of FLEJ
cups in my country. How can I get hold of one?
That’s definitely not a good predicament!
Firstly you should let your local retailer know that they
are missing out on an opportunity of selling a great product.
If you know a good distributor, let them know too. Then contact
us and if you are willing to pay the postage we will try to
get a FLEJ to you.
Where does the name “FLEJ” come
from and how is it said?
“FLEJ” is “fledge”
spelled phonetically. In English a “fledgling”
is a baby bird. We have chosen “FLEJ” as the name
for our cups because it ties in with our company’s bird
theme (a Sedge Warbler is a type of bird) and our FLEJ cups
are the first of a long line of great products we strive to create.
